Antibalas is a Brooklyn-based Afrobeat ensemble, deeply rooted in the music of Fela Kuti. Their sound blends West African rhythms, jazz improvisation, and funk grooves, creating a high-energy, politically charged musical experience. Formed in 2000, the band has released several critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively, becoming prominent figures in the contemporary Afrobeat scene.

Levon Helm Studios, located in Woodstock, New York, was established by the late Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist for The Band. Originally Barnaby Records studio, Helm purchased the property in 1975 and transformed it into a recording space where The Band frequently worked. Following extensive renovations after a fire in 2004, it reopened as Levon Helm Studios and continued to serve as a haven for musicians seeking a warm analog sound and intimate recording environment.

The studio is known for its focus on live tracking and its commitment to preserving Helm’s musical legacy. It has hosted numerous notable artists across various genres since its reopening and continues to operate as both a recording studio and a performance venue dedicated to fostering musical creativity within the Hudson Valley region.
