Classical Concerts in Amsterdam

Experience Andrey Boreyko live on January 15th

Andrey Boreyko, a Russian-born conductor renowned for his interpretations of both standard repertoire and contemporary works, will perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on January 15, 2027. Boreyko’s conducting style is often characterized by a focus on clarity and emotional depth, frequently highlighting the individual colours within orchestral textures. He has a particular affinity for composers such as Shostakovich and Prokofiev, but also champions modern composers.

The Concertgebouw, opened in 1888, is widely considered one of the world’s most acoustically superior concert halls. Designed by Pieter Cuypers, its architecture blends Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque styles. The hall’s famed acoustics are attributed to its rectangular shape, relatively small volume compared to its seating capacity (approximately 2,371 seats), and the use of specific materials in its construction. Throughout its history, the Concertgebouw has been intrinsically linked with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO), who have resided there since the hall's opening and continue to perform regularly. The venue hosts a diverse range of classical music performances annually, attracting internationally acclaimed orchestras and soloists.
