Experience András Schiff live on March 17th
András Schiff, a Hungarian-born British pianist internationally renowned for his interpretations of classical and romantic composers, particularly Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and Brahms, will perform at the Flagey building in Brussels on March 17, 2027. Schiff’s playing is characterized by clarity of articulation, intellectual rigor, and a deeply considered approach to phrasing and structure. He is known for his complete cycles of Beethoven’s piano sonatas and Bach’s *Well-Tempered Clavier*.
Flagey, originally inaugurated in 1938 as the Centre Culturel Flagey/Flagey Cultural Centre, is a prominent Art Deco building in Ixelles, Brussels. It served initially as a major broadcasting center for the Belgian National Radio (NIR/BRT). During World War II, it was briefly occupied by Nazi forces and later used for controversial post-war interrogations. Following extensive renovations completed in 2002, Flagey now functions as a multifaceted cultural hub.
The building houses two main concert halls – the Grande Salle (Great Hall) and the Studio 1 – alongside a cinema, exhibition spaces and several smaller studios.
