Altın Gün, a Dutch-Turkish band, will perform at Felsenkeller in Leipzig, Germany on November 4th, 2026. The group is known for their unique interpretation of Turkish folk songs from the 1960s and 70s, blended with psychedelic rock and funk influences. They revitalize these traditional melodies with contemporary arrangements, featuring electric guitars, driving rhythms, and often incorporating elements of Anatolian psych. Felsenkeller is a renowned live music venue in Leipzig, situated beneath the St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche) in the city center. Originally a medieval cellar dating back to the 15th century, it has functioned as a music venue since 1971, becoming particularly significant during the GDR era as one of the few spaces allowing relatively independent musical expression. It historically hosted many prominent East German rock and chanson artists. Following German reunification, Felsenkeller continued its role as a cultural hub, expanding its programming to include international acts across various genres including jazz, rock, blues and world music.
