Alexandre Tharaud is a French pianist renowned for his poetic and subtly nuanced interpretations, particularly of composers from the Classical and Romantic eras, as well as 20th and 21st-century works. He is known for a refined touch, clarity of phrasing, and a distinctive approach to repertoire often focusing on composers like Chopin, Schumann, and Debussy, but also exploring lesser-known figures. The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert hall complex inaugurated in January 2015. Located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is designed by Jean Nouvel and houses two primary performance spaces: the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez – notable for its modular acoustic design allowing adaptation to different ensemble sizes – and the smaller Salle de Debussy.

Philharmonie de Paris serves as the home of the Orchestre de Paris and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra. The building’s architecture incorporates a “cloud” of reflective panels on its exterior and aims to be an accessible space for musical education and discovery alongside its role as a premier performance venue.
