The Kendal Brewery Arts Centre occupies a building with a significant local history. Originally established as a brewery by Timothy Kennion in 1857 – Kennions Brewery – it operated as such for over 150 years, becoming a landmark within Kendal. Brewing ceased in 2005. The site was subsequently redeveloped and reopened as an arts centre in 2007.
