Alan Gilbert will conduct a concert at Heinrich-Lades-Halle in Erlangen, Germany on October 4, 2026. Gilbert is an American-born conductor known for his interpretations of standard orchestral repertoire alongside a commitment to contemporary music. His conducting style is often described as possessing clarity and a focus on textural detail, drawing out nuanced performances from orchestras. He previously served as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic from 2009 to 2017 and currently holds the position of Chief Conductor of the Hamburg NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.

Heinrich-Lades-Halle, opened in 1958, is Erlangen’s primary concert and event venue. Named after the local physician Heinrich Lades who bequeathed funds for its construction, the hall underwent extensive renovation and modernization between 2018 and 2020. The renovations focused on improving acoustics and accessibility while preserving the building’s architectural character. It regularly hosts orchestral concerts, chamber music performances, and other cultural events. The hall's capacity is approximately 730 seats and it is considered an important cultural hub for the city of Erlangen and the surrounding region.
