The Paramount in Huntington, New York, is a historic performing arts venue originally constructed in 1926 as a movie palace. Designed by architect William H. McElfatrick and Walter C. Hunting, it initially operated as a vaudeville house and cinema showcasing silent films with live orchestral accompaniment. Throughout its history, The Paramount hosted numerous prominent performers during the golden age of entertainment.
Following a period of decline and closure in the 1970s, the building underwent extensive renovations completed in 2011. It now functions primarily as a concert venue and event space capable of accommodating approximately 1,500 guests. The venue retains many of its original architectural features including ornate detailing and a grand lobby, contributing to its atmosphere as a restored landmark. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
