Zayn (born Zain Javadd Malik, January 12, 1993) rose to prominence as a member of the globally successful boy band One Direction, joining in 2010 following his participation in *The X Factor* UK. He departed One Direction in March 2015 to pursue a solo career, immediately signing with RCA Records.
