Youssoupha (born Youssoupha Sidibé, April 28, 1978, Dakar, Senegal) is a French rapper and singer-songwriter renowned for his intricate lyricism and conscious hip-hop. Relocating to France at age four, he began rapping in the mid-1990s, initially gaining recognition through battles and independent mixtapes. His debut album, *Investiguer* (2007), achieved gold certification and established him as a prominent voice in French rap.

Youssoupha’s style blends classic boom-bap production with influences from jazz and African rhythms, often incorporating socially conscious themes of identity, immigration, and societal issues. He avoids excessive autotune or trap elements, prioritizing lyrical dexterity and storytelling. Subsequent albums like *Noir Football* (2012), a tribute to his Senegalese heritage and passion for football, and *Basic* (2015) further cemented his critical acclaim.

He has collaborated with artists including Diam's and Booba. Notably, *Maman* (2019) reached number one on the French charts.
