Will Lee is a highly respected American bassist, session musician, and vocalist, renowned for his incredibly versatile playing and extensive studio work. Emerging in the New York City music scene in the 1980s, Lee quickly became a first-call bassist for numerous prominent artists across genres. He’s perhaps best known as a core member of the World Straight Ahead, a jazz fusion band he co-founded with Mel Lewis and Mike Mainieri.
Beyond World Straight Ahead, Lee’s discography boasts collaborations with Fela Kuti, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Suzanne Vega, Herbie Hancock, and many more. He’s a frequent contributor to television and film soundtracks.
