we are ALVA (stylized in lowercase) is the electronic music project of Finnish producer and multi-instrumentalist Antti Laitinen. Emerging in the mid-2010s, ALVA quickly gained recognition for a distinctive blend of atmospheric electronica, downtempo, and cinematic soundscapes. Initially focused on sample-based production, Laitinen’s style evolved to incorporate original instrumentation and a strong emphasis on textural detail.
ALVA's breakthrough came with releases on labels like Section80 and Saturate Records, culminating in the critically acclaimed debut album *Into The Wild* (2017). Subsequent albums, including *Illusion* (2020) and *Dust & Light* (2023), have further cemented his reputation for evocative and emotionally resonant compositions.
His work frequently features lush synthesizers, field recordings, and subtly complex rhythms, often described as melancholic yet hopeful. ALVA’s music has been featured in numerous online publications and playlists, gaining a dedicated international fanbase. He regularly performs live sets incorporating both original material and carefully curated selections.
