Viktor Krauss is a highly respected German multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his distinctive upright bass playing and contributions to a diverse range of musical genres. Initially gaining prominence in the 1990s with the German jazz group Krauss, he quickly established himself as a virtuoso bassist, blending jazz improvisation with elements of folk and world music.

Beyond his work with Krauss (later known as Viktors Krauss Quartett), he’s become a sought-after collaborator, notably with singer-songwriter Herbert Grönemeyer since 2007, contributing significantly to the sound of Grönemeyer’s commercially successful albums. Krauss also frequently works with artists like Marius Müller-Westernhagen and Joy Denalane.
