Tomáš Víšek is a Czech composer and sound artist recognized for his innovative work blending acoustic instruments, field recordings, and electronic processing. Born in 1986, Víšek initially trained as a classical percussionist at the Academy of Music in Prague, graduating in 2010. He quickly diverged from traditional performance, focusing instead on creating immersive sonic environments and experimental compositions.

His style is characterized by textural complexity, often incorporating manipulated sounds from urban and natural landscapes alongside meticulously crafted instrumental arrangements. Víšek frequently collaborates with visual artists and choreographers, developing scores for dance and performance art. He’s released albums on prominent experimental labels like Baskerville and Pot-Pourri Records, including critically acclaimed works like *Formations* (2017) and *Atlas* (2021).

Víšek's work has been presented at international festivals including Unsound (Krakow), CTM Festival (Berlin), and Rewire (The Hague). He received the Czech Music Critics Award in 2018 for *Formations*, solidifying his position as a leading figure in contemporary Czech sound art. He also actively teaches sound design and composition workshops.
