Tigran Tatevosyan is an Armenian jazz pianist and composer rapidly gaining international recognition for his virtuosic technique and emotionally resonant performances. Born in Yerevan in 1990, he began piano studies at age five and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent, graduating from the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan with honors.
Tatevosyan’s style blends deeply rooted Armenian musical traditions with contemporary jazz harmony and improvisation, often incorporating elements of classical music. He’s a dedicated interpreter of Komitas, the founder of modern Armenian classical music, while simultaneously forging a unique voice through original compositions.
He's a laureate of numerous international competitions including the Montreux Jazz Piano Competition (2015) and the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition (2019), where he secured second place – a significant achievement that propelled his career forward. Tatevosyan has toured extensively across Europe and North America, performing at renowned venues and festivals. His debut album, *Momentum* (2021), received critical acclaim for its sophisticated arrangements and emotive playing. He continues to record and perform as a leader and sought-after collaborator.
