The Story So Far emerged from Walnut Creek, California in 2007, quickly becoming a cornerstone of the pop-punk revival. Initially self-releasing demos and an EP, they gained traction through relentless touring and a raw, emotionally charged sound. Their breakthrough came with 2013’s *What You Don't See*, featuring the hit single “Quicksand,” which propelled them to widespread recognition within the scene.
Characterized by frontman Isaac Browning’s distinctive vocal delivery – often shifting between melodic singing and impassioned screams – The Story So Far blends classic pop-punk energy with elements of hardcore and emo. Lyrically, they explore themes of heartbreak, self-doubt, and frustration.
Subsequent albums *Tropical Disease* (2015) and *Proper Dose* (2018) continued their success, charting on the Billboard 200. Despite internal struggles and a period of indefinite hiatus announced in 2018, the band unexpectedly returned in 2022 with new music and festival appearances.
