The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO), founded in 1946 by Sir Thomas Beecham, is renowned as one of the United Kingdom’s leading orchestral ensembles. Initially formed from a collection of London freelance musicians, the RPO quickly gained international acclaim for its versatile and technically brilliant performances. Throughout its history, the orchestra has recorded extensively – boasting over 700 film soundtracks including iconic scores like *Harry Potter*, *Lord of the Rings*, and numerous James Bond films.

The RPO’s repertoire spans from the core classical canon – Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart – to contemporary works and popular music arrangements. They've collaborated with a vast array of artists across genres, from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra to contemporary pop stars. Notably, they were the first British orchestra to adopt stereo recording technology in 1957.
