The Jakob Manz Project

The Jakob Manz Project Concerts

The Jakob Manz Project is a compelling ensemble led by the prodigious German saxophonist, Jakob Manz. Born in 2000, Manz began playing the piano at age six and later switched to the saxophone. His talent was recognized early on when he won the "Jugend Musiziert," a prestigious German music competition for young musicians, at just 15 years old.

The Jakob Manz Project's style is an innovative fusion of jazz, funk, and soul with elements of hip-hop and electronic music. Their sound is characterized by complex melodies, rhythmic precision, and an energetic performance style that captivates audiences.

Since its inception in 2016, The Jakob Manz Project has achieved significant acclaim both nationally and internationally. In 2018, they won the Future Sounds competition at the Leverkusener Jazztage Festival, one of Germany's most prestigious jazz festivals. This victory resulted in a live concert recording by WDR3 radio.

In 2020, their debut album "Natural Energy" was released on ACT Music label. The album received positive reviews for its fresh sound and virtuosic performances. Furthermore, Jakob Manz was awarded the "Best Newcomer" award at the Echo Jazz Awards in 2020.

Despite his youth, Jakob Manz has already shared stages with renowned musicians such as Wolfgang Haffner and Thomas Stanko.
