The Dangling Participles are a Boston-based indie pop band formed in 2015, known for their intricate arrangements and lyrical wit. Initially a project centered around songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Plotner (previously of the band Hot Hot Heat), the group evolved to include members from several prominent Boston-area acts like Neutral Nation and The Paper Kites.

Their sound blends elements of chamber pop, baroque pop, and power pop, frequently featuring layered instrumentation – strings, horns, and keyboards – alongside driving rhythms. They’ve released three full-length albums: *The Dangling Participles* (2017), *Hypnagogia* (2019), and *Silent Treatment* (2023), all receiving positive critical reception from outlets like *Boston Globe* and *Vanyaland*.

Notably, *Silent Treatment* was partially funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign and showcases a more refined songwriting approach. The band consistently tours the Northeast US, building a dedicated local following through energetic live performances. They've shared stages with national touring acts and are recognized for their meticulously crafted songs exploring themes of memory, relationships, and modern anxieties.
