Thana Alexa is a vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist rapidly gaining recognition within contemporary jazz and experimental music circles. Born in Connecticut and raised internationally – including significant time in the Balkans – her upbringing profoundly influences her uniquely textured sound. Alexa formally studied jazz vocals at the New England Conservatory of Music, graduating with honors.

Her debut album, *Opaque* (2017), established her as a compelling improviser and storyteller. Subsequent releases like *Looking Forward* (2019) and *All My Days* (2023) demonstrate increasing compositional complexity and lyrical depth, often exploring themes of identity, memory, and displacement.

Alexa’s vocal style is characterized by its remarkable range, intricate phrasing, and skillful use of extended techniques.
