Tapiola Sinfonietta is a Finnish chamber orchestra founded in 1986 by violinist Jaakko Kuusisto, initially as a project-based ensemble. Rooted in a collaborative spirit and a rejection of traditional orchestral hierarchy, the orchestra quickly evolved into a highly sought-after, permanent group. Known for its flexible instrumentation – typically ranging from 12 to 24 players – Tapiola Sinfonietta champions both established repertoire and contemporary compositions.

Throughout its history, the orchestra has collaborated with numerous internationally acclaimed conductors including John Storgårds (its long-time Artistic Advisor), Sakari Oramo, and Osmo Vänskä. They are particularly celebrated for their interpretations of Finnish composers like Jean Sibelius, whose works feature prominently in their discography.
