Suzi Digby (born Susan Elizabeth Digby, 1955) is a British cellist renowned for her versatile career spanning classical performance, session work, arranging, and film scoring. Initially trained classically at the Royal College of Music, she quickly diversified, becoming a highly sought-after session musician throughout the 1980s and 90s. Digby’s cello features prominently on numerous iconic recordings including albums by David Bowie ( *Let's Dance*, *Tonight*), Massive Attack (*Mezzanine*), and Janet Jackson (*The Velvet Rope*).

Beyond studio work, she’s a prolific arranger, particularly known for her string arrangements for artists like Sting, Björk, and Elvis Costello. Digby founded the all-female string ensemble, Minerva, in 1994 – a group celebrated for its innovative approach to contemporary music and collaborations with artists across genres. She has also composed music for film and television, including scores for *The Hours* and *Notes on a Scandal*. Digby’s playing style blends technical precision with emotive expression; she's equally comfortable in intimate chamber settings or large orchestral arrangements.
