Experience Sueye Park

Sueye Park is a Korean-American composer, performer, and instrument builder whose work defies easy categorization, spanning experimental music, performance art, and sound installation. Trained classically on violin, Park’s practice centers around self-built electronic instruments – often sculptural and visually striking – that she designs and modifies to explore extended techniques and unconventional sonic textures.

Her compositions frequently incorporate vocalization, utilizing both her own voice and collaborations with other singers. Park's performances are known for their physicality and immersive qualities, often blurring the lines between musician and instrument. She’s released albums on labels like Room40 (“Remote Viewing”) and has been commissioned by institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art and MoMA PS1.

Notably, Park was a 2022 United States Artist Fellow in Music + Creative Practice. Her work has been presented internationally at venues like Unsound Festival (Krakow), Cafe Oto (London), and Issue Project Room (New York). She currently resides in New York City, continuing to develop new instruments and push the boundaries of contemporary musical expression.
