Strategy (born Christopher Leak, August 28, 1985) is an American rapper and producer hailing from Durham, North Carolina, deeply rooted in the underground hip-hop scene. Initially gaining recognition as part of the collective MHz alongside fellow artists Psalm 79 & Jo-Key, Strategy solidified his solo career with a distinctive sound blending boom-bap production with introspective lyricism and a focus on jazz samples.

He’s critically acclaimed for projects like *Bus Stop Memory* (2012), *Fractured* (2015), and particularly *Savage Mode II* (2020) – not as a performer, but as the primary producer for Freddie Gibbs & Benny The Butcher. This collaborative album achieved widespread commercial success and critical acclaim, earning numerous “Album of the Year” nominations from publications like Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.

Beyond Gibbs & The Butcher, Strategy has produced for artists including J. Cole, Mac Miller, and GoldLink. His production style is characterized by its dark, atmospheric quality and complex layering.
