Strahinja Mitrić is a highly acclaimed Serbian jazz trumpeter, composer, and educator. Born in 1986, he began playing trumpet at age eight and quickly distinguished himself through rigorous classical training before fully embracing jazz. He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, continuing his studies with renowned trumpeter Randy Brecker at the Global Jazz Masters program in France.
Mitrić leads the Strahinja Mitrić Quartet, consistently performing at major European jazz festivals including Montreux, North Sea Jazz, and Umbria Jazz. His sound is characterized by lyrical improvisation rooted in bebop tradition, blended with Balkan folk influences and contemporary harmonic explorations.
He’s released several albums to critical acclaim, including “Signs” (2017) and “Dreaming” (2020), both showcasing his compositional prowess and virtuosic playing. Mitrić has collaborated with numerous international artists and received awards for his contributions to jazz music in Serbia. Beyond performance, he's dedicated to jazz education, holding workshops and masterclasses globally. His technical skill combined with emotional depth establishes him as a significant voice in contemporary jazz.
