Space Monkey Mafia is a Canadian electronic music duo from Toronto, comprised of producers/DJs Dave “Dope” Druken and Distal. Formed in 2011, they quickly gained recognition for their unique blend of glitch-hop, drum and bass, and psychedelic bass music. Initially self-released, their sound caught the attention of Evol Intent Records, leading to the release of their debut EP *Atomic Funk* in 2013.

Their breakthrough came with the *Voidbound* EP (2015) and subsequent album *Intergalactic Garbage* (2017), both on Evol Intent, solidifying their reputation for complex sound design and energetic live performances. Space Monkey Mafia are known for incorporating elements of funk, jazz, and cinematic scores into their high-energy sets, often featuring custom visuals.

They've toured extensively across North America and Europe, playing festivals like Shambhala Music Festival and Electric Forest. In 2020, they launched their own label, Simian Soundsystem Records, further demonstrating their commitment to pushing boundaries within the bass music scene. They continue to release original music and remixes, maintaining a dedicated fanbase attracted to their innovative and immersive sonic experiences.
