Slawek Uniatowski is a Polish-born, UK-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his innovative blend of world music traditions, particularly those of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, with jazz, ambient, and electronic elements. Beginning his musical journey with classical violin training, Uniatowski expanded his skillset to encompass instruments like the kamancheh (Persian spiked fiddle), various bagpipes (including Polish *dudka* and Balkan *gaida*), and numerous percussion instruments.
He’s a founding member of critically acclaimed ensembles such as the Balkan Camelot trio and the electro-acoustic duo Kilimanjaro, alongside Neil Sparkes. Uniatowski's solo work features prominently on albums like "Changes" (2013) and "Kamancheh Stories" (2018), showcasing his virtuosity and compositional depth. He frequently collaborates with artists across genres, including Natacha Atlas and Banco de Gaia.
