Sinfonia of London is a British professional orchestra with a rich history evolving from the London Symphony Orchestra’s (LSO) pioneering recordings ensemble. Originally founded in 1975 as the LSO’s smaller, chamber-sized counterpart specifically for studio work under producer Peter Reynolds, it quickly gained renown for its exceptional clarity and flexibility. Renamed Sinfonia of London in 2023, the orchestra formally re-established itself as an independent entity after decades operating informally.

Throughout its existence, Sinfonia of London has contributed to countless iconic film scores – notably all seven *Star Wars* films, numerous Harry Potter soundtracks, and works by composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Danny Elfman. Beyond film, they've collaborated extensively with pop artists including Radiohead and Florence + The Machine.

The orchestra is celebrated for its ability to seamlessly blend classical precision with contemporary sensibilities. Their distinctive sound stems from a core group of highly sought-after players. Recent initiatives include a dedicated recording program showcasing both established repertoire and new commissions, aiming to solidify their position as a leading orchestral force beyond the film industry.
