Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a British cellist who has gained international acclaim for his exceptional talent and captivating performances. Born on April 4, 1999, in Nottingham, England, Sheku comes from a family of musicians and began playing the cello at the age of six. His prodigious abilities quickly became evident as he won numerous competitions and scholarships throughout his early musical education.

In 2016, Sheku rose to prominence when he won the prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year competition at the age of seventeen. This victory catapulted his career to new heights and brought him widespread recognition. Following this success, he signed an exclusive recording contract with Decca Classics, becoming the first black musician to do so in the label's history.

Sheku's musical style is characterized by his deep emotional connection to the music he performs.
