Shamarr Allen is a New Orleans-based trumpeter, vocalist, and songwriter deeply rooted in the city’s vibrant musical heritage. Beginning his professional career at age 13 with the legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Allen honed his skills touring internationally for over a decade. He then embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums like *The Block Party* (2014) and *Bridging the Gap* (2017), showcasing his unique blend of jazz, funk, R&B, and hip-hop.

Allen’s style is characterized by his virtuosic trumpet playing – often incorporating scat singing and beatboxing simultaneously – and charismatic stage presence. He frequently leads “Shamarr Allen & The Overdoze,” a band known for energetic live performances. Beyond performance, he's a sought-after session musician and educator.

He’s collaborated with artists including Harry Connick Jr., Trombone Shorty, and Galactic.
