Sergey Tanin is a Russian-born, internationally recognized concert pianist celebrated for his deeply expressive interpretations of Romantic and 20th/21st-century classical repertoire. Trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professor Lev Naumov, a student of Heinrich Neuhaus, Tanin quickly distinguished himself winning First Prize at the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition in Hartford, Connecticut (1999).

His concert career spans five continents, performing with leading orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Tanin is particularly lauded for his nuanced performances of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Prokofiev – composers central to his discography. He has released several critically acclaimed albums on labels like Onyx Classics, often focusing on lesser-known works alongside established masterpieces.

Beyond performance, Tanin is dedicated to pedagogical work, holding teaching positions at various institutions and conducting masterclasses globally.
