Septura is a critically acclaimed British ensemble redefining the possibilities of the brass septet. Formed in 2007 at the Royal Academy of Music, the group – comprising two trumpets, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba – has rapidly established itself as a leading chamber music force. Initially focused on transcriptions of string quartet and orchestral works (Ravel, Bartók, Mahler), Septura’s repertoire now includes significant commissions from composers like Graham Fitkin, Joe Duddell, and Gabriella Smith.

Their distinctive style blends virtuosic playing with a remarkably intimate sound, challenging preconceptions about brass instrumentation. Septura’s discography includes albums on Naxos and Champs Hill Records, consistently garnering five-star reviews from publications like *BBC Music Magazine* and *Gramophone*. They were finalists in the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Awards and won the prestigious Boreas Award for Chamber Music in Germany in 2018.

Frequently performing internationally at major festivals and concert halls – including Wigmore Hall and the Konzerthaus Berlin – Septura are dedicated to education through workshops and outreach programs alongside their performance schedule.
