Sebastian Rochford is a highly influential British drummer and composer, renowned for his innovative approach to jazz and experimental music. Emerging prominently in the late 1990s with the acclaimed Polar Bear band – which he founded – Rochford quickly established a distinct sound blending acoustic improvisation with electronic textures, breakbeats, and post-rock sensibilities.

He’s collaborated extensively with artists across diverse genres, including Brian Eno, PJ Harvey (contributing significantly to *Let England Shake* earning him a Mercury Prize nomination as part of the album’s winning team), and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood. Beyond Polar Bear, Rochford leads the trio SRF (Sebastian Rochford Trio) and has released solo work showcasing his compositional skills.
