Sahra da Silva is a Brazilian-American vocalist and bandleader renowned for her interpretations of early jazz, particularly the music of 1920s and 30s Parisian salon singers like Josephine Baker and Rina Ketty. Born in New York City to Brazilian parents, da Silva developed a passion for this vintage repertoire while studying at Oberlin College. She leads the acclaimed Sahra da Silva & The Lost Picture Show, a band meticulously recreating the sound and atmosphere of that era.

Da Silva’s vocal style is characterized by nuanced phrasing, multilingual performances (fluent in French, Portuguese, and English), and a captivating stage presence. She’s released several albums including “Looking Back at Forever” (2014) and “Pour Toujours” (2018), both receiving critical praise for their authenticity and musicality.

Beyond album releases, da Silva frequently performs at prominent jazz venues and festivals internationally, including appearances at Jazz Ascona and the Django Reinhardt Festival.
