Experience Roberto TreviÑo
Roberto Treviño (born October 13, 1971) is a highly regarded American tuba and euphonium performer, educator, and composer. He is Principal Tuba of the Dallas Wind Symphony, a position he’s held since 2003, and previously served as Acting Principal Tuba with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Treviño earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas, following studies at Indiana University and the University of Southern California.
Known for his virtuosic technique and expressive playing, Treviño’s repertoire spans classical standards to contemporary works, frequently commissioning new pieces for the tuba. He's a prolific recording artist with several solo albums including “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Tuba Rhapsody,” showcasing his diverse musicality.
Beyond performance, Treviño is dedicated to education; he’s a faculty member at the University of North Texas College of Music. He’s presented masterclasses globally and received numerous awards recognizing both his performance skill and commitment to advancing tuba literature – including being a two-time finalist in the International Tuba & Euphonium Conference Solo Competition. His influence extends significantly within the brass community.
