Robert Gastelum is a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer whose career spans collaborations with some of music’s biggest names. Originally gaining recognition as the touring bassist for Beck from 2005-2019, Gastelum’s contributions were integral to the live renditions of albums like *Guero* and *The Information*.
Beyond Beck, he's a prolific session musician, lending his skills to artists including Bad Religion, Macy Gray, and Foo Fighters (performing bass on “The Pretender”). His instrumental versatility extends to guitar, keyboards, and drums.
Gastelum co-wrote and produced several tracks on the Grammy-nominated album *Hyperspace* by Beck (2019), showcasing his songwriting prowess beyond performance. He also co-produced Beck’s 2022 album *Hyperspace: A Coupler*, further solidifying his production capabilities. Known for a subtly innovative style blending rock, alternative, and electronic elements, Gastelum consistently delivers polished and dynamic arrangements. He currently continues to work as a producer and collaborator from his Los Angeles studio.
