Rinaldo Alessandrini is an Italian harpsichordist, organist, and conductor renowned for his historically informed performance practice of 17th and 18th-century music. Born in 1952, he studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice with Augusta Campagnari, further honing his skills with Alan Curtis. Alessandrini’s career blossomed through collaborations with ensembles like Accademia Bizantina, which he founded in 1986 and directed until 2014.

He's particularly celebrated for his interpretations of Vivaldi, notably complete recordings of the composer’s concertos – a project lauded for its stylistic nuance and energy. Alessandrini’s approach emphasizes a lightness and clarity often absent in earlier interpretations, informed by extensive research into period performance techniques. He avoids overly romanticized readings, prioritizing articulation and ornamentation consistent with Baroque aesthetics.

Beyond Vivaldi, Alessandrini has recorded works by Scarlatti, Corelli, and Handel. His discography boasts numerous awards including a Diapason d'Or and Gramophone Editor’s Choice awards.
