Randall Goosby is a rapidly ascending American violinist captivating audiences with his expressive playing and commitment to expanding the classical repertoire. Born in 1997, Goosby began violin studies at age four and quickly distinguished himself, winning the Sphinx Competition’s Junior Division in 2008 and the Senior Division in 2010. He continued his training at Curtis Institute of Music, graduating in 2019.
Goosby’s performances are noted for their warmth, technical brilliance, and emotional depth. He performs regularly as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, and Boston Symphony Orchestra. His debut album, *Roots*, released in 2022 on Decca Classics, showcases a program blending standard repertoire with works by Black composers – Florence Price and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor – reflecting his dedication to diversifying classical music programming.
A recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant (2023), Goosby is praised for his engaging stage presence and advocacy for inclusivity within the classical music world. He actively uses his platform to inspire young musicians from underrepresented backgrounds and broaden access to classical music education. He currently resides in Philadelphia.
