Rafael Ruiz (born October 27, 1963, in Alcalá de Henares, Spain) is a highly acclaimed flamenco guitarist and composer. Initially gaining recognition as the accompanying guitarist for renowned cantaor (singer) Camarón de la Isla from 1980 until Camarón’s death in 1992, Ruiz significantly contributed to the groundbreaking fusion flamenco explored during that period.

Following Camarón’s passing, Ruiz embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums like *Jeremas* (1995) and *Azules* (1998), showcasing his innovative approach to traditional flamenco. His style blends deep respect for *toque* (flamenco guitar playing) with influences from jazz and other musical genres. He's known for his melodic complexity, rhythmic precision, and emotionally resonant performances.

Ruiz has collaborated with artists across diverse fields including Enrique Morente and Leo Nucci. He received the Premio Nacional de Flamenco (National Flamenco Prize) in 2016, recognizing his substantial contribution to the art form.
