Prawit Siriwat (ประวิตร์ สิริวัฒน์), born November 29, 1988, is a highly respected Thai jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator. He rose to prominence after winning the inaugural Thailand International Jazz Competition in 2009, which led to studies at the Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. Siriwat primarily performs alto and tenor saxophone, showcasing a style deeply rooted in hard bop and post-bop traditions while incorporating influences from traditional Thai music.
He has released three critically acclaimed albums: *First Page* (2015), *Second Time* (2017), and *Third Wish* (2020), all featuring original compositions and arrangements demonstrating his sophisticated harmonic sensibility. Prawit frequently collaborates with leading Thai and international jazz musicians, performing at major festivals including the Bangkok Jazz Festival and Java Jazz Festival. Beyond performance, he is dedicated to jazz education, conducting workshops and masterclasses throughout Thailand. His work aims to bridge the gap between jazz improvisation and Thai musical identity, establishing him as a significant figure in contemporary Thai jazz. He continues to tour and record actively.
