Piotr Orzechowski (born 1981) is a Polish jazz pianist, composer, and arranger renowned for his deeply emotive and technically impressive playing. He gained prominence as a member of the Tomasz Stańko Quartet from 2005 until Stańko’s death in 2018, contributing significantly to albums like *Spiritus Manum* (2007) and *December Avenue* (2013).
Orzechowski’s solo career showcases a distinctive style blending post-bop influences with elements of classical music and Polish folk traditions. He leads the Piotr Orzechowski Trio, releasing critically acclaimed albums including *Sound of Arrival* (2017) and *Eleven Eleven* (2021), the latter earning him a Fryderyk Award (Polish equivalent of a Grammy) for Jazz Album of the Year.
Beyond his trio work, he frequently collaborates with leading figures in Polish jazz and beyond. Orzechowski's compositions are characterized by lyrical melodies, harmonic sophistication, and improvisational freedom.
