Experience Peanut Butter Wolf
Peanut Butter Wolf, born Chris Manak, is a highly influential American DJ, record producer, and founder of the Los Angeles-based Stones Throw Records. Emerging in the early 1990s as part of the Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf duo, he gained initial recognition for their innovative, sample-heavy production style and charismatic live performances – tragically cut short by Charizma’s death in 1993.
Following this loss, Wolf established Stones Throw in 1996, cultivating a roster of groundbreaking artists like J Dilla, MF DOOM, Madlib, and Dam-Funk. He's renowned for his eclectic DJ sets spanning funk, soul, jazz, and hip-hop – often prioritizing obscure records and unconventional mixing techniques.
Wolf’s solo work includes albums like *My Vinyl Weighs a Ton* (2002) and *The Peasants Feel Your Pain* (2018), showcasing his signature atmospheric soundscapes and dedication to vinyl culture. He’s also authored the book *Butterscotch: The Life & Times of a Recording Artist*, detailing his musical journey.
