Experience Paweł Kapuła

Paweł Kapuła is a Polish multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger renowned for his expertise in historical performance practice, particularly concerning early music and folk traditions. Initially gaining prominence as a founding member and *nyckelharpa* player with the internationally acclaimed Swedish folk band Hedningarna (1989-2007), Kapuła broadened his scope to encompass diverse musical landscapes.

He’s a leading figure in reconstructing and performing medieval Polish music, collaborating extensively with institutions like the National Museum in Kraków and leading workshops globally. Kapuła’s solo work showcases mastery of instruments including the *nyckelharpa*, *gottfried organ*, various bagpipes, and early stringed instruments.

His discography includes critically lauded albums like “Kraina Zza Wiatru” (Land Beyond the Wind) and numerous collaborations spanning genres from ambient to experimental rock. He frequently contributes to film soundtracks, notably for Andrzej Wajda’s “Tatarak.” Kapuła's style blends rigorous historical research with improvisational flair, creating uniquely evocative soundscapes that bridge ancient traditions and contemporary sensibilities.
