Pateka (born Patrick Teka, 1989) is a Congolese-born, Paris-based musician and producer rapidly gaining recognition for his unique blend of electronic music infused with Central African rhythms and textures. Initially a drummer in the Parisian club scene, Pateka transitioned to production, drawing heavily on his Congolese heritage – specifically the *ndombolo* style – and incorporating elements of footwork, jungle, and UK garage.

His breakthrough came with the EP *Futur Shock* (2018), followed by critically acclaimed albums *Golo* (2020) and *Kongo Funk* (2023) on Hyperdub. These releases showcase his signature sound: complex polyrhythms, chopped vocal samples often in Lingala, and a vibrant energy that bridges continents. Pateka's work isn’t simply fusion; it’s a recontextualization of traditional sounds within a contemporary electronic framework.

He's toured extensively across Europe and North America, performing at festivals like Unsound and Boiler Room. Beyond album work, Pateka is known for his dynamic DJ sets and remixing work for artists like Loraine James.
