Born in 1979, Dantone studied at the Conservatorio di Musica "Gioachino Rossini" in Pesaro and furthered his education with renowned figures like Alan Curtis.
He is the founder and director of Accademia Bizantina, an ensemble consistently praised for its vibrant and insightful interpretations of composers such as Vivaldi, Scarlatti, and Handel. Dantone’s discography is extensive, including critically acclaimed recordings of Corelli’s concerti grossi and numerous operatic collaborations.
His conducting engagements extend beyond Accademia Bizantina to opera houses including La Fenice in Venice and Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Dantone’s playing is characterized by a refined touch, rhythmic vitality, and a deep understanding of ornamentation – hallmarks of authentic Baroque style.
