Nestor Torres is a highly acclaimed Puerto Rican jazz and Latin jazz flutist, composer, and educator. Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, in 1963, Torres began playing the flute at age eight and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent. He honed his skills at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, graduating with honors.

Torres’s style blends traditional jazz improvisation with the vibrant rhythms and melodies of his Latin heritage, incorporating elements of salsa, bossa nova, and Afro-Cuban music. He’s known for his virtuosic technique, expressive phrasing, and captivating stage presence.

Throughout his career spanning over three decades, Torres has released numerous albums including *Sunrise in Manhattan* (1995) and *Dancing Shadows* (2007), earning multiple Grammy nominations – notably for Best Latin Jazz Album. He has collaborated with prominent artists like Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, and Dave Valentine.

Beyond performance, Torres is dedicated to music education, conducting workshops and masterclasses globally. He’s a frequent performer at major jazz festivals worldwide and continues to champion the flute as a leading voice in contemporary Latin music.
