Myele Manzanza is a New Zealand-born, London-based drummer and composer forging a distinctive path within contemporary jazz and electronic music. Initially gaining recognition as a core member of the influential jazz collective Steamfunk, alongside Julien Dyne and others, Manzanza quickly established himself as a versatile and in-demand musician. He relocated to London in 2013, further developing his sound.

His solo work blends intricate drumming with electronic production, incorporating influences from broken beat, house, and Afrobeat alongside his deep jazz roots. Manzanza’s albums – including *One Hope Road* (2016), *Close To Paradise* (2018), and *Never Look Away* (2023) – have received critical acclaim for their sophisticated arrangements and rhythmic complexity.

He’s collaborated with artists like Yussef Dayes, Nubya Garcia, and Moses Boyd, cementing his position within the thriving UK jazz scene.
