Murkage Dave, born David Edward Turner, is a British rapper, producer, and visual artist hailing from Telford, Shropshire. Initially gaining recognition through self-released mixtapes and a prolific online presence starting in the early 2010s, he built a dedicated following with his distinctive lo-fi aesthetic and deeply personal lyricism. He’s known for a DIY approach encompassing not only music production but also album artwork, music videos, and merchandise design.

His sound blends elements of grime, UK garage, and experimental electronic music, often characterized by distorted vocals, unconventional sampling, and introspective themes exploring mental health, working-class life, and internet culture. Murkage Dave signed to Brownswood Recordings in 2021 releasing his debut album *Sick Sad World* to critical acclaim. The album showcased a more refined production style while retaining his signature vulnerability.

He followed this with *Murkage*, released in 2023, further solidifying his position as an innovative voice in UK music. Notably, he’s collaborated with artists like Floating Points and has received praise from publications like Pitchfork and The Guardian for his unique artistic vision and honest songwriting.
