Midori Jaeger is a classically trained American pianist renowned for her deeply emotive and technically brilliant performances, particularly of Romantic and Impressionistic repertoire. Born in 1985, she gained international recognition after winning the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2005 – the first American to do so in over a decade.

Jaeger’s discography includes critically acclaimed recordings of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Debussy on the Hänssler Classic label. Her interpretations are consistently praised for their nuanced phrasing, rich tonal palette, and intellectual depth. She’s known for a meticulous approach to score study and a dedication to conveying the composer's intent.

Beyond solo performance, Jaeger is an active chamber musician collaborating with leading ensembles. She frequently performs across North America, Europe, and Asia, appearing in renowned concert halls like Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonie. A graduate of The Juilliard School where she studied with Robert McDonald, Jaeger also holds degrees from Harvard University. She is currently a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, continuing to nurture the next generation of pianists.
