Merope (born Danae Petsa in Athens, Greece) is a vocalist, producer, and composer known for her ethereal and experimental electronic music. Initially gaining recognition as one-half of the critically acclaimed duo Keep Shelly in the Reef alongside Andy Moor, Merope launched her solo career in 2018 with the *A R I S E* EP on Ghostly International. Her sound blends dream pop sensibilities with IDM and ambient textures, often featuring layered vocals and intricate sound design.
Merope’s debut album, *The Lantern*, followed in 2020, further solidifying her distinct artistic voice and earning praise for its atmospheric depth and emotional resonance. She's released subsequent EPs like "Cipher" (2021) continuing to explore themes of memory, identity, and the digital landscape.
